Oh, Look Here, The Employees Are Involved In A Mutiny

Exhibit #1 David Scott (D-GA 13th district)

One of eighteen states that allows recall elections, Georgia voters in the 13th district should consider removing this pompous blowhard from office now. Why wait until November of 2010? State statutes explain what is allowed as reasons for having a recall election. Two of the items mentioned are "violation of oath of office; failure to perform duties prescribed by law"
(Ga. Code §21-4-3(7) and 21-4-4(c)). See Recalling Elected Officials.

A performance review of your discharge of duties as an elected official is in order. The oath of office:

“I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.” Oath of Office

Now, explain to me, Rep. Scott, how is attempting to force health care legislation upon your constituents discharging your duty to be their representative? How is repeating talking points from Obama, Hoyer, Pelosi, not engaging in purposeful evasion? And, while were on the subject, how about being familiar enough with your own little slice of Georgia to realize when you are calling someone who lives in your district all manner of insults?

Webster's dictionary defines evasion as "an avoiding of duty, question, etc. by deceit or cleverness." Hmmm, does not having townhall meetings, not answering questions from concerned citizens, having only a telephone style town hall, among other antics, sound like evasion to you?

I'm not an attorney or an attorney spokesperson but I learned about our government in civics and American History classes as a child here in flyover country. I've made numerous trips to the library and have read our nation's founding documents. Congressman Scott, what part about the word "representative" do you not understand? You do not tell your constituents what they should do, what they should be in favor of or what they may talk about during a town hall meeting. You, sir, are the employee! Those bothersome people asking questions about legislation? Citizens. Citizens who pay your salary, who trusted you with elected office, and they have every right to tell you how you should vote for them on issues and laws. They elected you.

They also have the authority to throw you out of office for violating their trust and for breaking your solemn oath to represent them and to defend them from all enemies, foreign and domestic. So what will it be, sir? Shall the good people of your district recall you now,  in 2009, or should they send your sorry self home in 2010?

Finally, this same admonition is for every other representative who thinks they are entitled to anything. All 435 of you have a duty that you swore an oath to fulfill - and it is to the citizens who elected you, not to any President, not to the Speaker of the House, not to anyone else! WE THE PEOPLE are the owners of this ship and any mutiny attempted by you scallywags will be dealt with by a ballot box revolution the likes of which this nation has never witnessed.

Twilight Zone? A Tale Of Two Inauguration Days

There are many similarities between the Carter administration and the Obama administration. A souring economy, a majority in both houses of Congress, the worship of diplomacy as the answer to all conflicts, and promotion of government programs for every imaginable purpose, to name a few.

What follows here is a comparison of the inaugural speeches. At times it is hard to distinguish Carter's 1977 entry from Obama's 2009 prose. See if you can correctly guess who is speaking in these excerpts:

Excerpt 1: "This inauguration ceremony marks a new beginning, a new dedication within our Government, and a new spirit among us all."

Excerpt 2: "What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility, a recognition on the part of every American that we have duties to ourselves, our Nation, and the world."

---------------------------------------------------------

Excerpt 3: "To be true to ourselves, we must be true to others. We will not behave in foreign places so as to violate our rules and standards here at home, for we know that the trust which our Nation earns is essential to our strength."

Excerpt 4: "Guided by these principles once more, we can meet those new threats that demand even greater effort, even greater cooperation and understanding between nations."

---------------------------------------------------------
Excerpt #5: "Time and again, these men and women struggled and sacrificed and worked ‘til their hands were raw so that we might live a better life. They saw America as bigger than the sum of our individual ambitions, greater than all the differences of birth or wealth or faction."

Excerpt #6: "We cannot afford to do everything, nor can we afford to lack boldness as we meet the future. So, together, in a spirit of individual sacrifice for the common good, we must simply do our best."

---------------------------------------------------------
And now, the envelope please, ... the answers are #1,3,6 belong to the peanut farmer turned president; #2,4,5 are statements made by the man with the "funny name" as he put it. The nation and the world have changed much since the 1970s. Isn't it strange that liberals have not changed? America is selfish, rogue nations can be tamed if we only sit down and talk with them, it's time for the rich to share with everyone else, and the citizens of the United States aren't smart enough to know what they really need or want.

Four years of incompetence by Jimmy Carter led to an inflationary monster consuming everything in its path, a former ally becoming a radical, sworn enemy of the West, and the roots of this current financial crisis by enacting the Community Reinvestment Act.  The question then is what friendly nation will turn venomous as a result of Obama's diplomacy? Also, what behemoth similar to the infamous Departments of Education and Energy will Obama saddle our nation with? Finally, who is it that is waiting in the wings to lead us, in 2012, to that shining city on a hill where, as Reagan believed and proved, citizens are seen as more capable than bureaucrats in spending their money?

How Do You Spell Corruption? One Letter At A Time

Since many in the mainstream media as well as the majority of our elected officials seem to have a lack of understanding (or a lack of fortitude?) concerning the true causes of the mortgage meltdown, I decided that spelling it out letter by letter may be of assistance.

F - Frank, Barney - The guy who pledged allegiance to the soundness of agencies he knew were not on solid footing! He should be thoroughly investigated for, among other things, obstruction of justice and conspiracy to commit fraud!

A - A.C.O.R.N. - You know, the advocate corruption of regulators and neighborhoods group, a.k.a. friends of Obama. The organization that bullied banks into making bad loans but looks the other way when its own affiliates have 200+ tax liens.

N - Nancy Pelosi - Promised an ethical House as speaker but exempted her hubby's businesses from minimum wage increases. She is the quintessential liberal politician.  The lowest Congressional approval ratings ever have resulted from her leadership and yet it is always someone else's fault.

N - Negligent - Defined in Webster's Dictionary as "habitually failing to do the required thing." As our employees (yes, everyone one of you in Congress is elected to work for us, rather than against us) where was the oversight, where is the accountability?  Such gall you have in accusing others of the very crimes you have committed as public servants!!

I  - Interstate Banking And Branching Efficiency Act of 1994. Banks no longer had to compete locally, now they could branch out from coast to coast, as long as they remained in the good graces of Janet Reno by making subprime loans under the Community Reinvestment Act.

E - Earmarks - A world of bringing home the bacon while claiming ignorance about your own favorable treatment (Yes, I'm talking about you Chris Dodd, Kent Conrad, Joe Biden, and several others in the world's most exclusive club.)

M - Moses, Herb - Rep Frank's heart throb while Moses was an executive at Fannie Mae. So, Barney was involved in making laws that would/could/did benefit his lover's GSE initiatives. Well, did Frank block efforts at regulating Fannie Mae because he was trying to prevent a scandal at Fannie Mae or an enraged lover's wrath? Thanks Barney for screwing the taxpayers, couldn't you have kept that sort of thing between the two of you?

A -  Accounting standards - Enron, MCI, Lehman Brothers, and Citigroup pale in comparison to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Yet, the very elected officials who caused this crisis are grilling others at hearings! If you egotistical brats left a private company is such disarray you "representatives" and Senators would be spending time in the big house - and hopefully, even now justice will be served and so will the guilty parties who committed fraud against the citizens they were elected to represent!

E -  Emanuel, Rahm - During a period of time when Freddie Mac was accused of campaign finance violation and accounting irregularities, Rahm was on the board of Freddie Mac and refused efforts to right the ship.

=============================================

Ken Lay, Bernie Ebbers, other former executives sit in jail while Senators and Representatives who caused this present crisis condescendingly feign anger at those who were only attempting to comply with the very laws Congress had forced on the industry?  We're not done yet! In a future entry we'll learn how to spell FREDDIE MAC.

Collusion Of Mainstream Media A Criminal Offense?

I’m not an attorney and I don’t play one on TV. However, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC and others appear to have conspired against the public they are licensed to serve or report the news to.

Collusion is defined in Webster’s Dictionary as “a secret or agreement for fraudulent or illegal purpose.” The mainstream media purposely withheld information about Obama before the election. Furthermore, The Communications Act of 1934 specifies that media outlets must serve in the public’s interest - NOT the presidential candidate(s) interests. To put it even more bluntly: Get a clue Chris Matthews!

This is the same mainstream media that shoved story after story down our throats about inappropriate emails from Republican Mark Foley, but earlier this year all three evening news broadcasts failed to make any mention whatsoever about Democrat Tim Mahoney’s sexual misconduct.

This is the same mainstream media that has dropped the ball on who really caused the mortgage scandal/crisis because some Democrats would suffer by being exposed as the money-grubbing, lying crooks and thugs they really are. For crying out loud, in the late 1980s and early 1990s even Democrat attorney Bob Bennett, in his final report on the Keating 5 scandal, indicated he wanted to exonerate the only Republican of the five, John McCain. However, the Democrat-controlled Congress balked at the idea since it would leave only three of their party members (John Glenn was also cleared of wrongdoing) responsible for the S & L scandal.

This is the same mainstream media that refused to cover Monica Lewinski even though they knew about the scandal. All of them spiked the story and made efforts to keep the facts hidden. The Drudge Report did the job the mainstream media neglected-check that-refused to do and brought them kicking and screaming into covering the story.

This is the same mainstream media that ran with false stories about George W. Bush’s National Guard service. Dan Rather and his producer Mary Mapes were exposed as frauds and executive management at CBS News had no choice but to fire them.

Shame on you Charles Gibson, Brian Williams, and Katie Couric, Chris Matthews and other journalistic imposters! Such brazen disregard for your audience and their right to the information you’ve withheld from them should result in ABC, CBS, NBC and other guilty entities being fined, reprimanded or even the networks’ possible loss of license due to malfeasance. As the regulator of the airwaves the Federal Communications Commission has the obligation to mete out punishment when media outlets commit crimes against the viewing public.

The first amendment of the United States Constitution guarantees freedom of the press but it does not mean the press has the freedom to subvert information the public should know about a party’s presidential candidate. Plain and simple, we have witnessed journalistic malpractice!

Socialism Explained For Young Voters

For anyone under 30 the concept of socialism may be difficult to comprehend.  After all, if an individual was born in 1985 they have no "real world" experience of what life was like when the U.S.S.R. was attempting to terrorize the globe.  Therefore, I decided to explain the effects of socialism using video game parallels.  Originally posted in five parts on Twitter, they are presented here now for your perusal:

Socialism explained for young voters-p1: Like PlayStation? Too bad-government (Obama) says you must play X-box games-or else!

Socialism explained for young voters-p2: Want that new game? Too bad-big brother says you must continue playing the old games!

Socialism explained for young voters-p3: X-box sales (govt revenue) have slowed. The One says you must pay per hour to play-is no longer free!

Socialism explained for young voters-p4: Like playing games late at night? Your govt issued time allowance has been changed by law.

Socialism explained for YV-p5: Since you insist on playing games not approved by govt-Your X-box will be confiscated-by surrender or by force.

We all, no matter our age or propensity for gaming, must understand that in politics one cannot simply hit the restart button when the game is over.  One cannot hit the restart button if you don't like the way the current game is going.  When, not if, Obama and the extreme leftists in Congress take away the perks they promised you during the campaign Obama voters will realize the restart button, like Dorothy's slippers in The Wizard of Oz, do not work as advertised.
